Treep

Treep is a high-velocity financial gateway designed to empower Colombians to protect their wealth against currency volatility. By allowing users to instantly convert Colombian Pesos (COP) into stable global currencies—primarily US Dollars (USD) and Euros (EUR)—Treep democratizes access to international markets. The app integrates directly with local ecosystems like Daviplata, enabling users to link their accounts and execute foreign exchange transactions with the same ease as a domestic peer-to-peer transfer.

Beyond just exchange, the app provides a virtual card that can be toggled between currencies. This allows users to pay for international services (like Netflix or Amazon) directly from their USD or EUR balance, avoiding the high hidden fees and "spreads" charged by traditional Colombian credit cards.

User Research & Competitive Analysis Market Intelligence I conducted a comparative audit to understand how Treep fills the gap between local Colombian banking and international fintech: The "Volatility Anxiety" Factor: Research showed that Colombian users are increasingly looking for "digital safes" to store USD. However, 65% find the process of opening a foreign account too complex.
The Vision: Borderless Wealth at Your Fingertips The core design philosophy of Treep is "Instant Liquidity." The UX focuses on removing the bureaucratic friction typically associated with traditional banks and "casas de cambio," replacing them with a mobile-first, transparent exchange engine. Daviplata Native Integration: To minimize user friction, I designed a seamless "Account Linking" flow that allows users to pull funds directly from their Daviplata balance. This ensures that the user never has to leave the ecosystem to fund their dollar or euro wallets, making the transition between local and global currency feel instantaneous. Real-Time Rate Transparency: In a market defined by fluctuating values, Treep’s UI prioritizes live, mid-market exchange rates. The interface features a high-contrast dashboard that visualizes purchasing power in real-time, ensuring users can "Jump" on favorable rates the moment they occur. Treep solves this by treating a USD wallet as simply another "pocket" within their existing financial life. Speed Over Complexity: By analyzing the Uber model of "one-tap" service, I applied a similar logic to currency: a user shouldn't "apply" for an exchange; they should just "swap" it.
